Next Mile vs Zoho CRM

How Next Mile and Zoho CRM compare for Nigerian freelancers and small teams who need to find clients, pitch them, and get paid in naira.

For Nigerian freelancers, creatives and small businesses of 1 to 20 people who find their own clients, pitch them, and invoice in naira. · Last reviewed

The short answer

Zoho CRM is a deep, configurable CRM with a free edition for 3 users, naira prices for Nigerian buyers, and paid editions that add automation, AI, quotes and invoices, and customer portals as you move up. It is priced per user. Next Mile is built for one person or a small team in Nigeria: it finds businesses to pitch with evidence you can check (their website, Google listing, Instagram and YouTube activity), drafts the pitch, follows the deal, and sends naira invoices with Paystack checkout, for one price per workspace. If you need a CRM you can shape around a larger sales process, Zoho CRM fits better. If you need to find clients and get paid with little setup, Next Mile does.

Where Zoho CRM is strong

  • A free edition for 3 users with up to 5,000 records.
  • Prices shown in naira to buyers in Nigeria, with cheaper rates when billed yearly.
  • Deep customisation: custom modules, process blueprints, low-code functions and wizards.
  • Part of the wider Zoho suite, so it connects to other Zoho apps a business may already use.
  • Automated multichannel follow-up (cadences), including WhatsApp, from the Standard edition.
  • Sales forecasting from Standard; territory management and an AI sales assistant from Enterprise.

Where Zoho CRM may fall short

  • Priced per user, so each person you add raises the monthly bill.
  • Quotes and invoices start at the Professional edition, and customer portals at Enterprise.
  • Sending WhatsApp messages needs separately bought credits.
  • Local taxes such as VAT are added on top of the listed price.

Choose Next Mile if…

  • You are a freelancer, creative or small team in Nigeria and want one naira price for the whole workspace.
  • You need to find businesses to pitch, with evidence you can check before you reach out.
  • Many of your buyers live on Instagram or YouTube rather than on a website.
  • You want quotes, naira invoices and Paystack payments without moving to a higher edition.

Choose Zoho CRM if…

  • You need a free CRM for up to 3 people.
  • You want to shape the CRM around your own process with custom modules and automation.
  • You already use other Zoho apps and want them connected.
  • You run a larger sales team that needs forecasting and territory management.

Moving to Next Mile

Export your contacts from Zoho CRM (every edition can export module data, the Free edition up to 10 exports a day) and save them as a CSV file. In Next Mile, go to Contacts → Import and upload it. Columns named First Name, Last Name, Email, Phone and Mobile are recognised. Rename "Account Name" or "Company Name" to "Company" before you upload. Contacts with an email or phone that is already in Next Mile are skipped, never overwritten. One file can hold up to 5,000 rows and 2 MB, so split larger files. Deals, notes and invoices do not come across: add open deals to your Next Mile pipeline by hand.

How Mile Finder decides who to show you

Mile Finder looks for businesses on Google listings and the web, then visits each one's website and, where it links to one, its Instagram business account or YouTube channel. What it sees is saved as observed evidence with a link to where it saw it. A free score ranks the businesses on six factors you can read.

When you ask Mile AI to look closer, it numbers the evidence and may only point to those numbers. If none of them support an opportunity, it says there is not enough public information and your credits come back.

What you pay as you grow

Zoho CRM charges for each user, so a team of five on Standard pays five times the per-user price. Next Mile charges one price for the workspace: Growth covers up to 5 people and Pro up to 20. Zoho's higher editions add more, including invoices from Professional and customer portals from Enterprise, so compare the edition you would actually need.

Getting paid

In Next Mile, quotes become invoices in one step. Invoices carry VAT, download as PDF, can repeat every week, month, quarter or year, and include a Paystack link so customers can pay in naira.
